Strawberry Branding Services Privacy Practices
This section basically describes the services that we provide for our clients. It concerns data collection and uses on such sites (not Strawberry Branding.com), in conjunction with our services for clients. This information is not related to what happens on Strawberry Branding.com. It’s important you always review the privacy policy of any site you visit as practices vary.
What Does Strawberry Branding do? What does Strawberry Branding mean by their Services?
Strawberry Branding is a leading global media investment and media agency holding company. We mainly focus on media buying and media strategy, and we consistently evaluate and try to come up with innovative ways to deliver relevant advertising and custom online experiences on behalf of our clients. Protecting online user privacy in the course of our business is a priority and one we take very seriously. Strawberry Branding provides client services such as media planning and buying; marketing communications planning; campaign analytics and research; paid search placement and search engine optimization; and branded entertainment and sports sponsorships (“Services”).
Did not understand? Allow us to explain a little more about our Services, how information is collected and used, and how you can opt out or whether you should choose to do so.
Interest-Based Advertising (IBA)
If the user has a hobby of painting? With the IBA technology (Interest-Based Advertising) also known as behavioral advertising or audience buying behavior, the user will see more painting ads online because the user visits much painting and drawing websites and reads a lot of online content relating to painting. If our client is a Brand that sells painting tools, Strawberry Branding’s Services will help place ads on sites where people who like painting and drawing, like that user, will see them.
When the user visits websites, watches videos online or clicks on any ads, we store a number on their browser using a “cookie” to remember their visits. Skilled with partners (digital publishers such as online painting magazines, for example), this cookie (number) will never collect personal information (PII) about the user, similar to how explained above. More on this a bit later…
Because many websites that the user visits are related to painting, the anonymous number which identifies the user’s machine or device is put in the “painting enthusiast” interest category. As a result, we may show the user ads that are relevant to painting enthusiasts as the user browses websites. That is how we analyze information collected about them from the user through the cookie (number). This is standard approach; you can learn more about these practices at www.iab.net/privacymatters. Remember the cookie does not inform us who user is specified. All we know is that someone used that particular device to view a painting website. We tag the device with the cookie so we can later serve more painting related ads to that device.
NO PERSONAL INFORMATION is collected for IBA. So what do we collect?
Through the process described above, we do not collect any of their PII and do not know User’s name or any other personal information. We simply recognize the cookie (number) stored in the user’s browser which tells us someone likes painting websites. We then show painting ads related to interests in painting and based on inferred demographics associated with painting. We do no show ads based on sensitive information categories such as those based on race, religion, sexual orientation, health, or sensitive financial categories.
Sharing this information and how online advertising works:
The user’s Non-Personal information (non-PII) collected through our Services (or ads placed by us on behalf of clients) may be shared with our clients and vendors. This is essentially how we do business and is how online advertising works. By sharing user’s Non-PII with our clients and vendors, the information helps them deliver more tailored ads to potential customers. The non-personal information allows clients to best understand what ads the user likes most based on how she interacts with the ads and when. This also enables serving of personalized ads to User’s devices so they see ads relevant to their interests, hobbies, and things they may be shopping for at the moment. This information also helps clients formulate more efficient ad campaigns which can help User in the long run. We do not collect the user’s PII via our clients’ ads, except in instances where consent is given by you or you provide the PII voluntarily, and therefore, we do not sell, rent, or share personal information collected on Strawberry Branding.com or other websites with anyone other than as set forth in this Privacy Notice.
When you do not want to share any of your non-personal information then what should you – how to “opt out”
Opting out of Interest-Based Advertising (IBA) is different from opting out of cookies from Strawberry Branding.com as described above under the section about our “Website”.
While User really enjoys receiving ads relevant to her painting interests, if the user, for some reason, chooses to stop sharing certain non-personal information for targeting advertising, they can “opt out” of some cookie, or number, placement. If the user opts out, it does not mean User will stop receiving ads altogether. It only means the user will stop receiving ads tied to their interests. The user has a few options with them as to how they may opt out. One of them is to adjust their browser settings to block third-party cookies from entering. The user can learn how to do this by viewing the Browser “help” menu. In addition, he/she can go to the Digital Advertising Alliance’s, (DAA), Consumer Choice page, http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ where User will be able to opt out of allowing the companies listed on such site to place a cookie, or number, on her device. The user needs to remember that if he/she opts out by clearing her browser cache or by resetting her cookies, they will have to take these steps from time to time, to opt out again.
Strawberry Branding is an active member of the Digital Advertising Alliance and complies fully with the DAA Self-Regulatory Principles.
